The Dancing Owl is an Inuit design that has been seen
in famous sculptures, paintings and Lithographic prints for man years.
One of the best known artists known for using this design is Pootoogook
Qiatsuq, from the community of Cape Dorset on the southwestern coast of
Baffin Island, high in the Canadian Arctic. He has mastered the art of
printmaking, stone sculpture and here has used is considerable skill in
creating a little wisp of an owl in gold. It is a one-of-a-kind little
gem. |
