Title: Whale Feast
Artist: Tony Weyiouanna

Description: Created in 1996, this huge whale rib is craved in relief and has drums, faces, and fans added to give it fully three-dimensions. It depicts two drummers and two dancers celebrating the beginning of a time of prosperity and happiness for a people whose survival depends on the  flora and fauna of a harsh region of our continent. This panel rests on a custom-made base that supports it as shown in the images.
Size: 69" long; 12½" tall; 5" deep.
Materials: Fossilized Bowhead Whale Rib; Fossilized Whalebone, Caribou Hair, Wooden base.
