Yup'ik Dancer III with Mask Pin/Pendant by Denise Wallace (2007)

Title: Yup'ik Dancer III with Removable Bird Mask Pin/Pendant, 2007 #5 of 5
Artist: Denise Wallace
Size: 4" tall
Materials: Sterling Silver,18Kt Gold, Fossil Walrus Ivory, Sugilite
Comments: This remarkable dancer is really dynamic. The pose is that of a dancer in mid-stride, and the body of the figure shows gold hand fans of the styles used in traditional dancing. The main figure (worn as either a Pin or a Pendant) has a removable mask that can be worn as a separate pendant - both can be worn at the same time! Worth noting is how the artist used pieces of beautifully colored "fossilized" ivory in the parka and pants of the dancer figure.
