From Manitoulin Island, Ontario, and a part of the Ojibwe First Nation, Marjorie Spanish created this beautiful cardinal scene using tufting techniques and dyed quills. Tufting is the incredibly difficult process used to give the quills a three-dimensional look that brings the piece to life. This cardinal is a beautiful example of that, seemingly nestled into the crook of a tree branch and surrounded by pine needles.
