From the peak of the career of a true master carver, this owl shaman is notable upon first glance, with beautiful lines creating the body and face of this 10.5” tall figure. Kiawak Ashoona, of Cape Dorset, carved this piece from a vibrant piece of serpentine that fades from having strains of white at the base to a deep dark stone at the top. Carved circa 1990.
