Sun/Moon Earrings (2024) by Denise Wallace
Beautiful scrimshaw faces of the Sun (male) and Moon (female, with chin tattoos). Denise relates a story from her friend Chuna McIntire about a brother and sister out on the land together. The brother flies up into the sky and becomes the Sun and the sister, sad to be left behind, flies up into the sky and becomes the Moon. This is where the "Woman in the Moon" series originates as well. This pair has intricate details in the mask background with 14Kt Gold dots and the outer hoop is 14Kt Gold. The spokes are wrapped in sterling wire.
