"Wolf/Killer Whale Transformation" Necklace by Denise Wallace
This is a one-of-a-kind vintage necklace made by Denise and Samuel in 1986. inspired by the Okvik and Old Bering Sea cultures which inhabited coastal Alaska over a millennia ago. Here is Denise's description of the theme: "This represents the Killer Whale and Wolf transformation story and was inspired by the story of a friend's uncle who had seen killer whales transform themselves into wolves and crawl on land. Killer whales and wolves have similar lifestyles; they live in family pods or packs, staying together for extended periods of time and they mate for life. They have a hierarchical system within the family." (Arctic Transformations; the Jewelry of Denise and Samuel Wallace)
