Hopi Woman Pin/Pendant (May, 1996) by Denise and Samuel Wallace #2 of 5

This beautiful vintage piece is in pristine condition. The figure was first seen in the "Women of the World" belt which Denise and Samuel created in 1995.  This is the second piece from a series of five that were inspired by the belt figure.  Note the articulating arm with beautiful holly blue agate and the 14K gold corn on the upper part of the dress.  The rain clouds, essential to growing corn in the desert, are portrayed with scrimshaw on fossil walrus tusk, while the corn stalks are done in 14Kt Gold below that. This is a beautiful, colorful piece that should be displayed as a piece of art when not being worn.  A masterpiece!
