Hib Sabin Owl Spirit Jar by Hib Sabin and Alexis Strong (circa 1999)

Stoneware body by Alexis Strong, with a Juniper wood head by Hib Sabin. This jar was a 1999 collaboration between two artists working together in Santa Fe, NM. It is an homage to the type of vessel seen as funerary jars known as Canopic Jars in ancient Egypt, Funerary Jars in China, and Burial Jars in almost every ancient culture around the world.
